Several researches have proven: in recent years, access to the Internet through mobile devices has been increasing. Therefore, the websites for real estate agencies must be prepared for this new reality, as, as a result, there is an increase in the rental and sale of real estate.
In 2014, for example, the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) showed that from 2013 to 2014, the percentage of households that accessed the internet via mobile devices jumped from 53.6% to 80.4% – exceeding the number of computer access.
More recent data, collected by Nielsen IBOPE in 2015, show that the number of people who use their smartphones to access the internet continued to grow in Brazil and reached 72.4 million. In addition, the greatest growth at that time in the use of internet by the smartphone occurred among adults and the elderly.
The VivaReal portal, which connects real estate agents, developers and brokers with people interested in renting or buying a property, also noted this increase. Of the searches to buy property on the platform, more than 41% are made on mobile devices – of this number, most are accessed via mobile (smartphone).
But the most notable is the growth in the use of mobile devices from 2012 to 2015 when accessing the site, as shown in the graph below.
In addition to having the website in the mobile version, it can also show the location of the apartment or house to rent or sell to further optimize business. This is because, according to research by VivaReal, properties with full addresses have 38% hotter contacts – those potential customers, who already want to schedule a visit to the property.
Therefore, leave your website mobile or responsive, and with the list of properties updated, with many photos of houses and apartments, their addresses, and with an easy way of contacting each one of them.
Differences between the mobile and the responsive website
Basically, both the responsive website and the mobile are adaptable for mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), so that visitors can easily navigate the website.
The website in mobile version is made in a way for computer resolutions (in desktop version), and in another way for mobile devices. Generally, the mobile site has a more visible navigation menu, the letters are larger than on the desktop version, among other factors that improve the usability of the site when accessed using these technologies.
The website or responsive layout is when it is made to automatically adapt to different screen sizes: desktop, tablets and smartphones. The page “fits” the space that the screen has.
In order to provide adequate navigation to mobile devices, both alternatives are recommended – but it is worth analyzing with a professional (web designer or developer) which is the best option for you.
And don’t forget to respond to contacts quickly!
With the website updated and optimized, contacts and the chances of selling real estate, or even leasing, will increase. Therefore, organize yourself to respond quickly to emails and other forms of contact so as not to miss out on such opportunities.
According to research carried out by VivaReal, most “tolerate” up to 1 day to get a response from the brokers – ideally the answer on the same day as the contact. So redesign your site, optimize it for mobile devices and improve your online service – to sell more!
